Layer Up.

Already stuck in a style rut?! It's only October! If this is you, fear not- layering is the answer. Layering is an essential part of a fall wardrobe. Not only does it keep you warm and toasty, but it gives off that "effortless chic" look that so many of us envy. This can now be you! A few simple tips and tricks will put all eyes on you this autumn.

Layering Tip #1: Sweaters- If you're looking to get use of all those great sweaters, here is your chance. Start with a light base layer (I like a thin cami). From there, take your layering efforts to the next level by starting with thinest to thickest. I'm not saying wear every sweater in your closet. Please don't! But if you have a light sweater and then a thicker one of the same length, pair the two together for a cozy outfit. Feeling a little bulky? Throw a belt on to chinch the waist and tailor the look.

Layering Tip #2: Belts- Speaking of belts, try pairing two thin belts together. If you twist the two together, it gives the illusion of one, larger belt. I especially like this because it looks eclectic and shows that you put your own creative spin on things! Twist your belts together for a look you're going to love.

Layering Tip #3: Scarves- More twisting is in store if you have a set of scarves that would pair great together. The thinner and lighter the better in this case. Twist the complementary scarves together for a statement. I love this look when paired with a cargo jacket and boots of some sort- it screams utilitarian but is equally chic.

Layering Tip #4: Leg Warmers- In my opinion, leg warmers work best with either tights or bare legs. You could try this with leggings, or even jeans, but beware of the bulk! Stick with tights or bare legs to pull this off effortlessly. Layering leg warmers or longer socks scrunched at the ankle is the best option. If you don't have leg warmers, channel your inner craft goddess with my handy post from two weeks ago.
