Happy hump day, all! As the weekend approaches you're probably thinking about what you will wear out... to dinner, the bars, to a party, etc. Before you look in your closet full of nothing to wear, consider this review before spending your hard earned cash. Today's review features Target's latest GO International collaboration, Tucker for Target. A quick side note about the brand: The Tucker line is the dream-turned-reality of Gaby Basora. The line started with beautifully draped blouses that sold out at Barney's New York and then expanded to include tops, dresses, bottoms, outerwear and accessories. I must admit, the items feature on the website (along with the website itself) are stunning and definitely worth a look.
Now for my review on the Target collaboration. I hate to say it, but I was less than thrilled. The pictures of the items looked equally as great on the rack as they do in photos; however, the fit is what bothered me the most. I wasn't a fan of the way the dresses fit. The neckline was, to me, granny-esque and didn't flatter me whatsoever. Also, I wished the hemline was a bit shorter to bring some flare to the floral and Aztec inspired prints. I also tried on a top that was decent (much better than the dress). But I thought that, overall, the pieces could have been more body-conscious and form fitting- everything hung on my body as it did on the hanger. I'm not all about "bashing", though. The brown coat (as pictured) was cute in person and was made of a nice material. I also thought that the tie front blouses were pretty but a little too workplace professional for my daily wardrobe. Although the line didn't float my boat, you be the judge. Plus, the lookbook has some really great outfits put together and serves for some well needed inspiration. All in all, I give the Tucker for Target line 3 stars. ★★★
