Second Time Around.

Alas, Friday is here! Unfortunately, I won't be issuing a "Halloween theme" post today. However, I will tantalize you with some great news! We all know that I'm a sucker for Target's GO International collections- and for good reason, mind you! How can I not to get excited about designer pieces at Target's prices?! Anyway, the news you've all been waiting for... Target's Reissuing 30 GO International Dresses!

The news on Target as per Fashionista:
"If you didn't get your hands on one of the lust-worthy pieces from one of Target's blink-and-you-missed-it designer collaborations over the years, you might get a second chance. In celebration of Five Years of GO International, Target is following in the footsteps of Betsey Johnson and Anna Sui by reissuing 34 dresses from the following 17 previously featured designers:

Luella Bartley, Tara Jarmon, Paul & Joe, Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Libertine, Alice Temperley, Erin Fetherston, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chai, Johnathan Saunders, Thakoon, Tracy Feith, Rodarte, Zac Posen and Tucker."

The collection will be available March 13, 2011 through April 10, 2011 so mark your calendars! The dresses will be available at most Target stores and online at Target.com.

I've included my top three picks of dresses that were part of GO International in the past... and that I hope are included in the re-issuance! Happy weekending!

However, I have a hunch that finding a cheaper dress wouldn't be a tough feat. Whichever you prefer, I've provided a few great options to choose from.

Fashionista's 10 Best.

Fashionista, one of my favorite blogs, recently posted a list of their top 10 picks for the best clothing stores... in the world. Out of the ten stores that received accolades, eight of them are available for your shopping pleasure right here in the U.S. I decided to re-post this on my blog because I thought their list was very well-rounded and featured stores that myself and other stylish AW shop at. I also thought it was substantial enough to put onto my blog because well, to be honest, I just really liked this post from Fashionista and wanted to share it with you. If you're a little skeptical about this list, check out Fashionista and also read this excerpt from Fashionista:

"Which clothing stores offer the right mix of well-made, gently-priced, well-designed clothes? To rank the world's best, we tapped our string of correspondents- from Los Angeles to Paris to Tokyo- to tell us which stores they enjoy most. As usual, our methodology is loose, but fair: We factored in fabric and construction quality, price (as it related to quality), overall desirability, and accessibility to a large audience. And we only considered stores that sell clothes for both men and women. (No discount, department store, or boutique retailers were included.)"

"World's Best Clothing Stores: The Fashionista Ranking"
10. Weekday
9. American Apparel
8. Gap
7. Urban Outfitters
6. Top Shop
5. H&M
4. Uniqlo
3. Zara
2. COS

Sigh, Monday. I have the perfect remedy to beat those Monday blues. Two words, ladies: statement necklace. What a better way to spice up your wardrobe then with a great piece of jewelry?! Sparkle and shine are great for adding some pizazz to any outfit. Right now, I'm loving pairing these great statement necklaces with a casual look. Not only does it add some personality, but a great necklace is something that not everyone is bound to have. So not only will you look great, but you'll be wearing something that every fashionista will surely covet. Two brands have been making headlines in the world of statement necklaces- Hive & Honey and Sequin are names to keep on your "it list". Why? Pair a great necklace with jeans and a blazer, and you're ready for a night on the town! (NOTE: All of the items featured on today's post can be found at Piperlime.com)

Boogie Shoes.

Finally, Friday is upon us! It's time to shake the stress away and have some fun. If you're planning on going out tonight, do it in style. Platform pumps are the way to go. These shoes are extremely hot this season- you've probably seen them all over, on fashionistas and celebs, alike. It's time to treat yourself to a pair of these fabulous shoes. You won't be sad you did, trust me on this one. While the height of these pumps, mixed in with some drinks, is worrying you, hush child. The beauty of these is that there is a hidden platform in the front of the shoe. Therefore, if the back heel is 5 inches, the front platform is probably 1 inch, leaving you with 4- which really isn't so bad! I have complete faith that you can rock these stunners. But be forewarned, you're going to get LOTS of compliments. Happy weekend!

Some of my top platform picks:

Row #1 platforms:
1.  Sam Edelman 'Novato' - $99.95
2.  Steve Madden 'Darrina' - $65.90
3.  Steve Madden 'Caryssa' - $89.95

Row #2 platforms:
1. Sam Edelman 'York' - $199.95
2. Enzo Angiolini 'Sully' - $88.95
3. Vince Camuto 'Momas' Corset Back Suede Pumps - $117.95

Row #3 platforms:
1. Charles by Charles David 'Pure' - $124.95
2. Enzo Angiolini ' Smiles' - $94.95
3. Jessica Simpson 'Waleo' - $97.95

Row #4 platforms:
1. Zara Patent Leather 'Court' - $89.90
2. Jeffrey Campbell 'Jezabel' - $114.95
3. Nine West 'Studit' - $89.95

Fast Fashion.

Today's post is all about e-shopping. Whether you prefer to purchase online or in-store, it's no secret that every gal loves to browse in her downtime. I prefer to call myself a broswer, as I rarely purchase online- unless, of course, I've seen it before, have tried it on before or seriously can't live without it. Most of the time, I purchase the bulk of my items in-store. However, online retail chains have been stepping up their game, offering online customers discounts that in-store ones are not subjected to. Today's post on e-shopping sites was inspired by the most recent issue of InStyle Magazine, where a feature story on 250 great e-shopping sites were listed and described. If you're an online shop-a-haulic, then I suggest that you invest in the latest edition of InStyle. Below, I have listed my top eight personal favorites. Enjoy!

1.  ASOS
This online shop is based in the UK, but don't let that scare you. The styles are always up-to-date, and even ahead of what we have here in the US. Plus, they have great shipping rates so overseas shipping fares won't break the bank. I especially love the dresses on this site.

2.  Shopbop
If you're in the market for a really great piece of clothing, I highly recommend Shopbop. While they carry a larger price tag in comparison to the rest of the sites, the pieces here scream quality. Everything on Shopbop is super chic and always right on with current style trends. My favorite thing about Shopbop, however, is the lookbooks that they feature, which provide for great inspiration. AW bonus: They have a fabulous sale section.

3.  Revolve
Revolve is great because of it carries so many designers. There's always something new and exciting on this site. Plus, I think that there is something for (almost) every price range on here. The lines of designers that that site features often has select pieces that are not available in other stores. All in all, I love shopping for denim on Revolve. Great selection!

4.  Nordstrom
Nordstrom is my go to. Whether online or, especially, in-store, Nordstrom never seems to disappoint. I love all of the clothing lines that they carry in their "savvy" and "t.b.d" departments. A great selection of shoes is always a crowd pleaser, as well. Most of the time, Nordstrom has great shipping deals and promotional codes.

5.  Anthropologie
Anthro has always been one of my favorites. While the clothes are always funky and eclectic, I can't get enough of the beautiful accessories that Anthropologie has to offer. If you're in the market for great belts, shoes, bags, and jewelry- look no further than Anthropologie.

6.  Free People
I love Free People's site because there always seems to be a great mix of pieces. While FP can seem a little hippie-chic sometimes, browsing their site makes it evident that there are pieces for all styles at FP. The dress section is my personal favorite, along with the shoes. The shoes! Great finds here. Also important to note is the always stocked sale section.

7.  Sole Struck
If shoes are your vice, Sole Struck is for you. They have hundreds of the latest and greatest new styles. Shoes galore is the name of the game at this online haven. Beware, the hottest styles sell out in the blink of an eye!

8.  Piperlime
I can't get enough of Piperlime. Why? Because it has everything! Shoes galore, great clothing pieces and top picks from celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. I adore the lookbooks on this site, as well, and the shoe section is something to rave about. They have the largest selection of Frye boots, by far. Also, there are always promotional codes and discounts so checking in regularly is a must.

Oh La Lanvin!

Earlier this year on September 2, it was announced that Lanvin would become the next guest designer collaboration for retail giant H&M. Winter 2010 is coming quicker than we may think, and what a better way to bring in the new year than  wearing Lanvin! If you're not excited about this collaboration... well, you should be. The collection will be available to view beginning November 2 at H&M's website. Even more exciting, the collection will be available for purchase in 200 stores worldwide, starting November 23. You know that that means, don't you? Mark your calendars, ladies!

A little background on the fashion powerhouse from Net-A-Porter: "France's oldest couture house, founded in Paris in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, creates the kind of modern, elegant  pieces that every woman wants in her wardrobe. Now under the direction of Israeli designer Alber Elbaz, the label is loved worldwide for its luxurious feminine aesthetic."

A sneak peak at Lanvin for H&M- very Parisian! (Je l'adore!)

Lanvin Fall/Winter '10 runway show:

See how similar the pieces are? Brilliant!! Soon you will have the chance to own a lookalike piece from one of France's most famed couture houses. For nearly 1/4 of the price! Act now or forever hold your peace.

Chic This Week: Military Inspired Jackets

Happy Tuesday, readers. For this week's edition of "Chic This Week", I'm honing in on military inspired jackets. If you've been shopping lately, or in the presence of some fabulously dressed women, you've probably seen an endless array of military-esque pieces. From shirts to pants, jackets to shoes, military inspiration is HUGE this season. You all know how I'm all about keeping warm, while still looking great- military jackets are all the rage in my book. I've chose five of my favorite styles- all ranging in price. The ones with the faux fur are my personal favorites because, let's face it, I'm a sucker for (faux) fur. These types of jackets can be found almost anywhere at almost any price. Another great thing about them is that they can be worn from season to season- just add a few more layers (see yesterday's post) for the colder, winter months! Voila! No matter your budget or style preference, a military inspired jacket is the way to go this season.

Layer Up.

Already stuck in a style rut?! It's only October! If this is you, fear not- layering is the answer. Layering is an essential part of a fall wardrobe. Not only does it keep you warm and toasty, but it gives off that "effortless chic" look that so many of us envy. This can now be you! A few simple tips and tricks will put all eyes on you this autumn.

Layering Tip #1: Sweaters- If you're looking to get use of all those great sweaters, here is your chance. Start with a light base layer (I like a thin cami). From there, take your layering efforts to the next level by starting with thinest to thickest. I'm not saying wear every sweater in your closet. Please don't! But if you have a light sweater and then a thicker one of the same length, pair the two together for a cozy outfit. Feeling a little bulky? Throw a belt on to chinch the waist and tailor the look.

Layering Tip #2: Belts- Speaking of belts, try pairing two thin belts together. If you twist the two together, it gives the illusion of one, larger belt. I especially like this because it looks eclectic and shows that you put your own creative spin on things! Twist your belts together for a look you're going to love.

Layering Tip #3: Scarves- More twisting is in store if you have a set of scarves that would pair great together. The thinner and lighter the better in this case. Twist the complementary scarves together for a statement. I love this look when paired with a cargo jacket and boots of some sort- it screams utilitarian but is equally chic.

Layering Tip #4: Leg Warmers- In my opinion, leg warmers work best with either tights or bare legs. You could try this with leggings, or even jeans, but beware of the bulk! Stick with tights or bare legs to pull this off effortlessly. Layering leg warmers or longer socks scrunched at the ankle is the best option. If you don't have leg warmers, channel your inner craft goddess with my handy post from two weeks ago.

Watch Yourself.

Are you always late? Better watch yourself! Today's post is all about watches. Whether you're style is classic, funky, boho, or what have you- I promise there is something for everyone. All of the selections on this post are from one of my top 3 favorite online stores, Shopbop.com. If you don't know Shopbop, you have been so deprived! Seriously! Anyway, I've been lusting for great gold watch for some time now. You might think of a gold watch as "gaudy", but you are mistaken. It's a great way to add some flair to your everyday look. Also, a nice gold (aka not overly yellow and cheap looking) never goes out of style. Michael Kors makes some beautiful ones- all with reasonable price tags. Two other great brands that I've included are Freelook and La Mer Collections. If you're not in the market for something super expensive, these are really worth looking at. If you don't already own a great watch, now is the perfect "time" to invest in one!

Chic This Week.

Hello, Monday!! For the second edition of "Chic This Week", I will be providing you with a great look for the colder months ahead. I'm really into big, chunky knits paired with delicate or embellished things. It makes for an eclectic mix that's feminine, but still very versatile and wearable. I also like these types of pairings because all of the pieces can be mixed and matched with other items in your closet- and, they work great day or night. Similar to last weeks post, I'm featuring an outfit from Piperlime. Also like last week, I'm proving you with alternatives for key pieces that are budget-friendlyin comparison to the ones provided by Piperlime. I'm a fan of splurging on boots, so the Frye's featured in the Piperlime look are definite keepers. Everything else, in my opinion, is free for interpretation. This type of look is something you definitely want to incorporate into your fall to winter wardrobe. Enjoy, ladies!
